Roller Skating

Welcome to Olivia's first time on "real" roller skates, not the plastic ones! She had no idea what she was in for, but I did. I knew it wouldn't be easy and she would fall at least once, and she did. But she got right back up, probably a pride thing, and tried again. It took awhile before she trusted herself with them and just had a terrified look on her face for the longest time. Anyway, this was cousin Mackenzie's "7" Birthday! It was fun, and by the end of the night, Olivia had confidence in herself that she could stand on her own two feet!

Birthday's get lined up in a row around here when it comes to cousins! Cousin JJ(February), Mackenzie(March), and Olivia(April). Never forget that Mackenzie and Olivia are only 10 days apart. Olivia always asks if she will always be older than her and why her b-day is first...come on,it's only 10 days! Logan drew the lucky straw and got a August b-day! Outside, swimming, shorts, etc.!

Logan was just happy that someone (anyone) would take his hand and walk with him around, and around the skating rink! He loved the lights and kids, almost like he would look at them and say, "hey I'm just learning too!". He's learning to walk and I'm sure with all the wall hugging and falling down, he just had to be thinking they were doing the same!

Signs of Spring

Nothing says Spring like finding a male and female duck in your front yard on a Sunday morning. Can you tell I have been waiting a long time for the weather to change?! With Logan walking this year, it allows us to do more and I can't wait. Olivia is even hoping for warm, nice weather on her b-day party Saturday........Time will tell

I AM The Man

What is it about the power of having the remote control? We all know it's a "man thing", but do they learn it this young?! Here's your answer, by the picture below! Logan does everything in his power to get the remote during the day. It's like he has radar if you leave it lay somewhere. It's so funny when he does get a hold of it, like a pride thing. I started taking pics of him, just sort of fooling around, well he hammed it up for the camera, so one picture turned in to many. One sign Logan is getting older......the tantrums have started and he cries when you bring him back inside after playing outside.............things to come! Next up...Olivia's b-day week............

Happy 80th Birthday Tommy

This weekend we had the pleasure of being invited to our very good friends 80th b-day surprise party. These are our neighbors from our old house here in Ohio, Tommy & Colleen. They are like 2nd grandparents to our children and like a 2nd set of parents to me and Rich. It all started when I moved out here with Rich and they lived next door. Not so long after that, Olivia was born and they just couldn't get enough of that little girl. Unfortunately, I wanted to move back home and we moved. Well x-amount of time later we ended up moving back to that house and they just took us under their wings and made us feel like that was home. They are the type of people that if your kid does something in their yard, they just sort of say "whatever". Love those kind of neighbors. So anyway, long story short, they have been there for me when I felt like I didn't have nobody out here, and they have "adopted" my children as their very own grandchildren and spoil them just as much! Tommy don't like big crowds and does his very best to avoid them, but he was a pro at his party. It held up to be a huge surprise, he wasn't none the wiser. I'm not sure that you should do that to a 80yr.old man!!
Olivia found some grown-ups downstairs to teach her games and Logan, after his crying fit, b/c he was in a room full of people he did not know(yes, we are at that stage), it was a very nice time with a very nice bunch of people................

Still Trying

I got some better pics of Logan walking. He was really going out of his way last night to try new things. He was turning himself around to walk a different direction and even went to fall down and caught himself with his hands and stood back up!! I was so extremely proud of him (again) and he was so proud of himself also! Funny how I notice the little tiny things he does, but it makes such a huge difference. Love how kids hold their hands out for balance and are thinking real hard about what they are doing.

This little boy is always into mischief. Olivia was interested in her toys and tv all the time, not Logan. He would rather rip my house apart on a daily basis. Here he is getting my computer mouse.

"Who mom, not me!" He loves to "climb" up in the window and look out and you'd better have the blind up or it's going in 50 directions while he's trying to get it out of his way.

Luckily for him, I have a basket with books in it that he can get up on and look out.

I Promised a Leprechaun

"Mom, I promised you a leprechaun, but nobody caught him." This is the finished trap, that didn't succeed in catching that little sneaky critter. There was also a ladder that Olivia made, quite creative I might add, it was made out of toothpicks and grapes. Imagine that! It didn't make it home or I would show you. Oh the things you have to do in school these days...........

FINALLY

Finally, and I do mean finally, the boy has decided it would be better to walk than crawl everywhere! He's doing pretty good too! Every day he takes more steps and is getting better balance. The picture is blurred, but it's a "action" photo! I am so very proud of him and he is of himself also. HAPPY ST.PATRICKS DAY!!!

To Catch a Leprechaun

Olivia had a project for school ,due today, to make and "try" to catch a leprechaun. Yes, they had to make a trap and their going to set them up at school tonight and so if someone catches that sneaky critter! I called in the "big guns" on this one. There is only one extraordinaire trap maker, Uncle Jimmy. Let's go back........We got out of the house this weekend and made a trip to Pa. It was a long overdue trip, we hadn't been back since x-mas, and that's very long overdue. Jimmy was the animal catching, trap maker kid of his time. I knew he would come up with something good. I can't show you pics yet, 1. I forgot my camera at home over the weekend, 2. The batteries were dead this morning before it left for school. I will get some though when she brings it back home.

We had a great time in Pa. and it was, as I said, long overdue. Olivia got to play all day Sat. outside with some girls and Logan literally hung out with the guys on Sat. Which means, he was off his mother leg. Yeah, my leg got a free day!! He hung out with Uncle Jimmy and Uncle Mike, back in Uncle Mike's room most of the day, it really was priceless. For some reason my children are attracted to his room and MUST be in there when they are there........hey, I'm not arguing!! Olivia of course never wants to leave and Logan, well I don't think he wanted to either, other than he needed some good sleep at home. All in all, a very good weekend............

SPRING????

Hopefully like everyone else, we took full advantage of Saturday being such a warm, wonderful day! Finally, we could get outside and run off some steam, or at least look at something different than each other. Olivia takes every chance she gets now to get outside, and Logan just really seemed to love being outside. I think he forgot about the airplanes and started noticing them again. Loved his swing much better than last year.

The time change has caused some tricky situations around here. Not so much with Olivia, but with Logan. Although I am very happy to say, we are sleeping in on the weekends and Logan is usually not up before Olivia during the week!!

Along with the warm weather I get the urge to start going through closets and asking "why are we still keeping this stuff!". I have been cleaning out closets and getting rid of a lot of "baby" items still shoved in corners and closets.

Logan has been taking about 4 steps at a time now and I'm super excited and so is he. He still looks like he's trying to figure out the whole balance thing yet. Walking has been such a slow process, it's tiring!! I will keep you updated, and maybe get a pic of him trying.

Olivia found the extra, new, rainy day clay I had bought and couldn't wait to mold it into something. She made this penguin and needless to say,I was absolutely blown away with how good it turned out. The pic doesn't do it enough for how good it looks in person. Believe me, I could make a snowman and he would be goofy looking!!

I Can See Clearly Now.......

Oh, the blue glasses, how they have made so many think they could see better! I did now realize looking at these that Olivia now has no sun glasses to wear for our vacation next month, but anyway. The glasses made there way into Logan's hands one day (like many other items that he can't keep his little hands off of), and it was so funny watching him trying to put them on and he thought he had gotten a major prize. Maybe it was because Olivia wasn't home and she wasn't there to take (rip) them out of his hands, or maybe there magic and you really can see better with them!! Oh the pics I will have when she gets older. He just knows he's cute.

Possibly a little mischief waiting to happen.

I love to see Logan actually sitting. I used to and should still refer to Olivia as being like a hummingbird, they never stop. This boy gives me a run for my money. I will refer to him as a hummingbird on Redbull, for example. Maybe it's cause I'm getting older, but OMG he's into absolutely everything! If it's a wire, he's got it. A blind he can pull, done. Toys he can throw, got 'em! You get what I'm saying. I realized today in the store when you really know your done have children........you see a very cute little newborn and think "oh how stinkin' cute" and then turn around, remember all the work involved and go, "nope, done!!"............................

Baby muscles!!
