Pa.

We decided to make one more trip back to Pa. before school officially started and to get Liv's mind off her nerves about school. My mom had found this game and it blows out butterflies and you have little nets to catch them in. Oh yes, and grandma had lots of helpers to get those batteries in!
Well the kids had more fun with the air blowing straight out of it than anything else.

All is going well with school so far. Logan has been tired and taking a nap after school. He LOVES riding the bus and doesn't want to get off. That could be a issue. Olivia is up and ready for school everyday before me. I'm glad she's happy!

Not Ready For This Yet

Well off to school he went! He tried darting back to the house when the bus pulled up, but I was ready for that. Once he got on the bus and they seat belted him in, he looked at us and smiled and waved! Hope he felt that way the whole way there.
I still think he's too little for school!! LOL

I thought it was very cute this morning that Olivia had him all dressed (diaper too) and ready to go for school all by herself. She was asking, how was he going to ride the bus, what if he cried, who was going to change his diaper, etc. She was so worried about him going to school this morning, it was priceless.

The other kids on the bus looked like they should be going to kindergarten compared to Logan. Look at these pics and just think how time flies.....

Time Out

Well me & rich actually got a night out to ourselves a couple weeks ago, something that doesn't happen very often. We got VIP seats at the Akron Aeros baseball game. Rich got them through his union and it was all free. Funny how different you get treated when you have special "VIP" tickets. It was a very nice night to be out. Still 85 at 9:30pm. I said about how ironic it was to be on this side of Children's Hospital. The big building in the back of the pic is the hospital. When Logan was in there for 6 weeks, we park at that parking deck every night. Most nights there was a game going on. Funny enough, we were there 3 days before Logan's b-day. We would stand in the deck before leaving for home and watch some of the game. I guess winding down from the day. So anyway, I said after 3yrs. how funny it was to finally be watching a game from this side of the parking deck.
I don't get very many pics were rich isn't wearing his work clothes.

Ok, this is why I don't post many pics of me during the summer. It was a hot and humid night and my hair wasn't having any of it.

I wanted to mention about a website that I believe is going to become something you will be interested in. It's called groupon.com . This is a legit website and has discount products, new products daily. For example, just not long ago, they had Gap gift cards: pay $25 for a $50 gift card. I have read where other dept. stores and such are wanting to jump on the bandwagon of this b/c of how well the Gap cards did. If you sign up, you get a daily email stating what the daily bargain is.

First Day Of School

Olivia's first day of school was Tues. What seemed to take forever to get here, finally came and went. Thank goodness. About a month ago (yes, a month ago) she started saying she didn't want to go to school and especially 3rd grade. This continued every night at bed time. She had me to the point where I was getting nervous about it. Crying, carrying on every single night. I keep thinking "this ought to be good come the first day". I was right. The night before she practically was hyperventilating over school. Well at this point, there's no turning back. Luckily and unfortunately Rich had a funeral of a co-worker on Tues. to attend, so he was going to be here in the AM.

Would you believe Logan actually decided to sleep in until after 8am this first morning. The boy didn't sleep in past 7:30 all summer. I know, that's the way it goes. So she cried from the time she got up till the time the bus came around the corner to pick her up. I thought she was going to dart for the house when she saw it.

After worrying all day how she was probably crying at school like a kindergartner, she got off the bus, smiling and said "i love my teacher". REALLY, REALLY you just said that!! I am very happy, she's happy but after a whole month of crying, making me anxious about school, you get off the bus and it's been smooth sailing since then?! I need a drink!! She does have a great teacher again this year and I can tell this is going to be a wonderful yr. This yr. especially, they stress it's the kids responsibility to remember homework and such, not the teachers and not the parents. I like that "grown up" idea. She seems to really want to take on the responsibility........so far.

Too Funny

This boy had a wonderful bday. He not only had his favorite company here, he got alot of his favorite gifts. This bday was fun, he sorta "got it" this year. He was all about singing Happy Birthday to himself. It was fun teaching him it. He actually didn't cry when we sang to him (Olivia always cried) and he blew out his own candle.
When he ran in and saw his Thomas bed, he said "thomas, thomas, thomas bed!" He was so excited. He tells Thomas good night, every night. I am counting on my brother to provide his best pics, as he brought out his good camera.

Someone got a hold of mom's camera I see.

This is part of Logan playing pretend. It is so stinkin cute when he plays with Olivia's chipmunks. The sound he makes is very high pitch, just like the chipmunks. How I would love to get that on video. There's been no way of sneaking in that he doesn't notice me.
This is the last week of summer vacation. Olivia starts school on Tues. and it's going to be very quiet here. I always say at the beginning of summer I can't wait for school to start, but by this time and having her here all summer, it makes me sad. I know that she would rather be here with me, she's told me. Maybe that's a downfall to having a stay at home mother.

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

August 13th, my baby turns 3. Yes, three yrs.old. I love ever single day with him and the incredible strides he makes every single one of those days. I love how much he's putting sentences together and how other people can understand him now. I love how when he wakes up, he smiles. I love how all you have to do is look at him and he smiles right back at you telling you, it's going to be ok. I love how he calls me mama, I waited so long to be called something. I love how he has learned to comfort people when they are hurt or sad. I just love everything about his little boy!!

Logan was playing with some slime Olivia had made from corn starch and water. I was truly shocked he stuck in hands in here and was playing with the characters. Logan doesn't like anything on his hands as you can see from the pic below. He is doing more pretend play with toys and that's a plus.

This is what happens when a almost 3yo. thinks he doesn't need a nap. He falls asleep face down in his supper (yes, he's sleeping). He has sometimes gone in his bed and taken a nap lately, but I'm running him ragged during the day!

My beautiful first born!

As we all know, it's been really hot this summer. Now I'm not one to complain about the heat, but will complain about the cold, but this has been a really hot summer. It is far better than a cold, rainy summer but it's proved to be hard to do anything outside in the afternoon. Needless to say it's limited our outside activities. Oh well, you don't too many good weather summer vacations like this on.
Speaking of summer vacations, this one is almost over. Meaning school starts Aug.24 for Olivia and Aug.30th for Logan. Summers just fly by and before you know they will be riding the school bus. I am not ready to get up early in the AM and get two kids out the door for the bus. Just not ready for that yet.
Since we(Rich) has been painting and moving things around, he refused to tear the crib down again and put it back together. We have had a blue toddler bed in the garage for Logan for some time now and so we decided to do the dreaded....switch beds. We did, i so have regretted it most days. There is not much napping now and I miss that. Rich said he couldn't go to preschool still sleeping in a crib, like who was he going to tell!! I'm sure that's a guy thing. I said, well he's going in a diaper, who's he going to tell about that!!! I know sooner than later he will understand the big boy bed, right now it's all about the freedom!
