You Get One, You Lose One

Teeth that is. Funny, with the age difference with Olivia and Logan, he is cutting teeth and she finally has a loose one. So as I say, I got one getting teeth and one losing teeth at the same time. Olivia couldn't wait until she lost a tooth like everyone else in school. She bit into a sucker and presto......a tooth was loose. I knew there would be drama with it, so it wasn't real high on my list of milestones that I couldn't wait for. At first she was excited and then........she cried and was scared about it. Now she plays with it and shows me the hole behind it (must be where the tooth has come out of, and it's gross and she insist on showing me all the time. I assume she thinks the tooth fairy bring Nintendo DS's these days! what a shock she will have when she finds out the tooth fairy is having hardships also!! LOL

I hear a lot of "hey's" from Logan these days and he crosses his feet a lot, which I never saw before. He's getting harder to hold, he's always stretching himself in all directions trying to look and wanting to "go". Him and Olivia have become more interactive with each other and it's neat watching them. His way of communicating is just screeching at her, but it's funny to watch the facial expressions. It gets harder to believe his B-day is almost only 1 month away.............

More Pics

Olivia has this new found interest in my camera lately and obviously they were both up to no good when she took this photo opt! I have found her playing more with him lately, now maybe that he's getting bigger and he looooooves it. He will sit (well, not really sit, cause he's not doing that yet) but sit in something and just go on forever with her, until she gets up and leaves and he realizes he can't move yet! He was teasing her in the car the other day and he was in one of his screaming moods (not cry screaming) and she was telling him,"Logan, be quiet" and he would look at her and just laugh. She got quite annoyed real quick and I got the biggest kick out of it.
Logan loved being in the saucer on the deck. That made me realize that we really need a roof over our patio out back and how nice it would be to be able to be out there when the sun is out, now you have to wait, it gets so extremely hot during the day.

These(this) is the shirts(shirt) that we made in Pa. on 1 cold and rainy day. Logan has one also, but his diaper decided to leak before I could take the pic, so his isn't included.

What You Have Been Waiting For

This is by far, my favorite. Still in their pj's and rocking together.Still more to come, just out of time for now!
See what I mean about not smiling when he sees the camera! This turned out really cute though.

Spending time w/Pappy Nesbit, supposed to be picking strawberries, but probably trying to bribe pappy for something.

He's going to kill me for posting it, but hanging out w/Uncle Mike!

Don't know why this pic is sideways, but turn your head and enjoy these from Olivia's garden! Recital pics, so very cute and innocent yet! Not really, but you know.

Vacation

Vacation: Day 5

I'm a little behind, but it will do. Finally Friday, and Grandma took the day off work, well 1/2 day. So what's a girl going to do? Go shopping! My wonderful children were absolutely horrible, so we didn't stay real long. The weather was so much better. Logan was feeling better with his teeth, which was a relief. Maybe he knew daddy was coming in that night and really didn't want to show him what he put his mother through for two days!

So it was time to go home, always bitter sweet. It's hard when you have a little one and can't bring everything from home. It's nice to be home, but you will always miss the company and the relaxing atmosphere of the country. I was hesitant about coming home and knowing things would go back to be crazy again, even though I try so hard to keep it simple. I decided Monday, the house needed a good cleaning and some of the furniture needed moved around, so I'm still into that project..........

Vacation

Vacation: Day 3 & 4

Ok, so the weather is promising to get better and today was a little better. My dad (aka pappy nesbit) has taken 3 days vac. to spend with us. Let's start with yesterday (Wed.). Weather, lousy.....I decided we should dye the t-shirts. Not ever doing this before and knowing they couldn't turn out that bad, cause they are not supposed to be perfect anyway, I figured I couldn't mess it up. They turned out nice, Olivia's turned out really good, pics to follow next week when I have my computer back. Logan is cutting top teeth and it's not making things any easier. Running out of ideas to keep us busy while in the house like it's winter outside.

On to Thurs. (it's much better). We went and had lunch with Grandma today and saw all the girls that work there. They had only seen Olivia once before and never Logan. Aren't Grandparents always so happy to show off the grand kids?! Makes me laugh, and someday I will know what that is like and be able to hand them back over in time to the rightful owner! They always get handed back! LOL Then my dad had his turn in showing off the "precious grand kids" to the lady who cuts his hair in town. She wanted to see who he is always talking (bragging) about. She was very nice and I can see why her and my dad get along, they are both very talkative(social!) people. That was nice. We took a "car tour" of the new and much needed Sheetz store. Now mind you, this is a huge deal here in town. I promised Olivia we would walk up there one day and get a slushie, but the weather has complicated that for now. Back to home from there, Logan (and mom) needed a much needed rest, so I thought. While he was sleeping (all of his 30 min.) I took Olivia and we planted a flower on my Grandma & Pap (Nesbit's) grave. I started this with her a couple of yrs. ago on the traditional Memorial Day, but we did not make it back here for it this yr.I went every yr. with my grandparents and planted all the graves, and it met something back them, so I'm hoping it does to her some day. Just trying to pass on some traditions, yea, I know what a morbid one! So I got the phone call that Logan had woke up and when Uncle Mike and Pappy are the only ones here, it means come quick. Actually, it was a good phone call cause you wouldn't believe the questions I was getting about dead people and all sorts of things a 6yr.old can think of! So hopefully Logan will sleep tonight, as last night, he (we) didn't get much sleep at all. I finally put him in bed with me and Olivia, but I was afraid she would hit him moving so much as she does. Also, I found out just how much Olivia grinds her teeth when sleeping, like a fingernail going down a chalkboard.....................Oh, I have finally tried my hand in some Guitar Hero playing!!!

Vacation

Vacation: Day 2

Ok, so the weather is not cooperating so well and it feels like fall. Most of my plans were made of outside activities. I did finish my mom's flower beds and my sister helped me with the mulch and they look soooo much better and she was excited to see them when she came home.

Maybe I will get into the tie-dye t-shirts today. I bought a kit and only b/c it was on clearance and I couldn't pass it up. I would like to try the freezer stencil shirt that my cousin gave me the idea. When I have my mom here ,sometimes I need help following directions!! Can't post any pics until I get back home, but at this point with the weather there aren't very many anyway!!! THIS TOO SHALL PASS!

Vacation

Vacation: Day 1

So ,in a last minute sort of decision (which I am not known for) I decided to bring the kids back with Grandma & Pappy to Pa. on Sunday. Olivia has been wanting to come back for more than a weekend for a long time and after recital week and soccer ending, I needed some R&R also. Let me tell you how much I don't like packing small children for a week! Olivia's not bad, just needs the essentials and she can pack what she wants to bring (I still pack the clothes!!) Logan on the other hand, oh what a thinking process that is. You need almost everything, so that takes time and thought. I did it, while mom watched the kids I went into "thinking mode" and pack everything I thought we would need and there was a lot. So we made it, even packed Logan's fish aquarium off the crib thinking that would help him get to sleep, like at home.

So we were ready to start Monday, and it was a beautiful day. Olivia kept busy with Uncle Mike and playing Lego's (one of the toys we don't have at home). She got to ride her tricycle in the alley. She never wants to think she's too big for it, whatever! I love it here to ride bikes, cause there isn't any traffic in the alley. We took a walk and looked for Pappy (never did find him, but we looked for clues along the way). I cleaned out my mom's front flower beds that nobody seems to have time for. Just took some time to relax and enjoy life! Logan (knock on wood) seems to be doing fairly well at going to sleep here, so that makes life easier. The fire whistle went off last night and my kids are not used to that sound, and poor Logan cried and hung on to me for dear life (it was nice to feel a little needed again!). Something I am just used too and as a kid would sleep through. It stormed in the evening, so any outside plans got cancelled there. So far, so good!

Oh, I should mentioned, the recital went really well, both nights. Olivia did wonderful, and the time flew between dances. Our "mom dance" to Eye of the Tiger went really good, it was fun and I would do again next year. Olivia loved that her mom was on stage like her. The music didn't want to work once we got on stage, not once but twice, but thankfully Miss Jessa had another CD and the third time was a charm. It after all, was Friday the 13th. Sat. night Logan did really well through it and was loving the kids on stage and was checking all the girls out, cause he knows they all come up to him and talk to him, no girls can walk by without acknowledging him and he's gotten used to the attention!

Recital Week

This is Olivia's recital week. The recital is Friday & Saturday (yes, two nights). I will be very happy when it's Sunday morning. I absolutely hate this week. There are so many practices, things to remember, makeup to do, and a whole bunch of chaotic kids!! Olivia doesn't like the makeup and says it tickles, so you can imagine what that is like to put on her. We have to have Mr. Logan with us Sat. night, so I will have butterflies wandering how that is going to go. It is cute and enjoyable, but I am so glad when it's done. Like I have said before, i don't like a bunch a chaos for a long period of time. That's just me, hands down.

Some of us girls are doing a "mother dance" towards the end. It is too "eye of the tiger" which is really cool, now I'm thinking, "what the heck did I agree to do!" It's easy for the little kids, they like it and don't mind the audience. We have shirts to wear that say, well mine says "Olivia's mom", it's cute, please don't screw up, please don't screw up!!
I forgot to write last time about the snake O found. Usually every year, about this time, I see a snake in our yard. Now I lived in Pa. all my life and maybe saw 1 in our yard. So I got to thinking (cause I never forget that I see them mid may or June) that i hadn't seen one and maybe I wasn't going to and my "bad" luck was going to change. Well Sat. she seen one and had to have Rich get it and dispose of it. Usually he's not here when I see them and they get away. They are usually babies and where there's a baby there's a mama. This one did not get away. I absolutely cannot tolerate a snake to save my kids' lives, one creature that could be extinct for all I care. So for one more year, the snake tradition carries on........

Ahhh...Relief

Thank goodness for some rain and storms and it whisked the hot, icky weather away. Boy, that was hot. Almost too hot to do anything, which is why Olivia is bored. She can't wait until Pappy & Grandma come this weekend and believe you and me, she's counting the days until Sat.! She always wants to know why we just can't live in a house by them. She would pack up and leave here and be a Pa. woodsman forever. Come Sunday she will be sad and crying cause they will be gone........things to look forward too. She did get to get into the pool and she was loving it. I, on the other hand, like the pool to warm a little before I jump in. I always say I'm going to buy a heater for it, but of course, we still don't have one. Now maybe with the heat gone, we can get outside and do some things. All I can say is, thank goodness for central air!!

Logan didn't know what to do with the heat. His little hair on top started to curl. I forgot what it's like to have a little one and not be able to be in the heat and sun. So I did spend a lot more time than I wanted in the house, but using the air that we are paying to run! I started a routine with him and it was working well, but I decided to change it, cause who really wants to be up and showered in the summer by 7am...not me. So I have gotten him to sleep a little till 8am. That has messed up our whole routine. So I have the task of making another, and confusing the boy again. He got weighed yesterday, he is 18lbs. although looks and feels more than that. His height has grown to 26inches, which is exciting. They said he's a little heavy for his height, but of course he's not walking or crawling yet. DUH. I can't win for losing, he's either too short, too skinny, or too heavy......well he's just right with me, he's happy!! (This was not a regular dr. appt., that is on Wed., so we will see what she says)

little boy is very slowly trying to get top teeth, and he makes this face when he is rubbing his gums together.

Summer Vacation

At last, summer is here(not officially) but in this house it is! Checked the strawberries and they are getting nice and red. Olivia & me had to try one and there's nothing better than a red ripe, warm from the sun, strawberry........ahhhh...summer! The pool is ready to go, but I would be willing to bet it's like a tub of ice cubes, but looks very inviting on a day like today.

Things I have learned today, the first day of summer vacation are: Noggin is channel 107, we are(and have been) out of computer paper. Olivia wanted to print and we are out, as she precedes to tell me we have been for awhile now. My most repeated sentence of the day, "Be quiet, your brother is sleeping and don't you dare wake him up!" This is funny, but will show you how Olivia absolutely knows what should be and what's not around the house. She mentioned to me yesterday that the toilet water is not where it should be. I just said, "oh, I think it is". So today she says, "you may want to call the toilet man, cause our toilet does not have enough water in it". We don't have a "toilet man". She made me come in the bathroom, show me where the water should be and it's not there! I think she's right, who knows, I can't say I pay that much attention to the toilet water, but it is extremely funny to think she knows how much water should be there!

Logan is hilarious, getting so big. I know I say that a lot, but he is everyday. He growls when your feeding him and laughs. He loves to pull your hair and laugh about it. Now he fake coughs so you say something and laughs. He's so easy, you can tell when he's tired and you just put him down, give him a receiving blanket, that he can breathe thru (cause you know he's going to put it over his head and fall asleep) and he goes out like a light. Now I did have to fight with him to get him this way for about a week, but oh, how it pays off in the end. Olivia fought me much longer about it. He's been on this same lovely schedule now for some time and it's so nice. They told me preemie's are hard to get on a schedule and now I see why they said that. He's starting to want to communicate with his sister and he just babbles at her and sometimes screams, I'm sure that's to get her attention. She was laughing at the tv and there he was, just laughing with her. Oh, life, it's funny, isn't it!!!!

Home Stretch

Can you feel it? The heat that is. It is suppose to be around 90 here on Friday and that's so much better than say..20?! The humidity is here and you can tell by looking at mine and Olivia's hair. The poor girl has hair like me, add humidity and it's a mess. I've noticed that Logan has the most moist feet I have ever felt. Now Olivia always had sweaty stinky feet and could never wear anything but sandals in the summer, but his are definitely "boy" feet, cause they are nasty! Anytime you touch them, they are wet! He really does suck those toes too. Boys will be boys.

Olivia is getting excited that Thursday is the last day of school now. I don't think it has really hit her yet though. I know she will miss some of the girls in her class over vacation, but I have to tell you, I won't miss the morning rush of getting her off to school and trying to feed a "starving" boy at the same time. It will be much more relaxing....note to children: we can sleep in now. Logan will be excited to have his sister here all day. He gets so excited when she talks or walks in the room. I love watching them, cause he just can't get enough of her. I almost (not that I'm rushing things) can't wait until he can talk and actually play with her. I can't wait to hear the conversations they have and what she is going to teach him. In due time.....

This is Olivia's strawberry patch. It is absolutely loaded this year. You really can't tell but the size are like store bought ones and they are so heavy and loaded, they are now weighted down to the ground. I've already got ideas of what to make when they ripen.

Only 2 More Days of School

Olivia's last soccer game was Saturday. They didn't win, they didn't win a game all soccer season. That was ok though, they didn't care, 4th place still carries a trophy! She was so little out there, but very cute!
My little teeny tiny boy is growing up so fast. He's so hilarious and everything is funny to him. I finally got him to stick out his tongue when I ask him where his tongue is. He will also tilt his head side to side (just like mama taught him) and then give me this little grin, almost to say, "I can do this mom!"
