Vacation

Vacation: Day 1

So ,in a last minute sort of decision (which I am not known for) I decided to bring the kids back with Grandma & Pappy to Pa. on Sunday. Olivia has been wanting to come back for more than a weekend for a long time and after recital week and soccer ending, I needed some R&R also. Let me tell you how much I don't like packing small children for a week! Olivia's not bad, just needs the essentials and she can pack what she wants to bring (I still pack the clothes!!) Logan on the other hand, oh what a thinking process that is. You need almost everything, so that takes time and thought. I did it, while mom watched the kids I went into "thinking mode" and pack everything I thought we would need and there was a lot. So we made it, even packed Logan's fish aquarium off the crib thinking that would help him get to sleep, like at home.

So we were ready to start Monday, and it was a beautiful day. Olivia kept busy with Uncle Mike and playing Lego's (one of the toys we don't have at home). She got to ride her tricycle in the alley. She never wants to think she's too big for it, whatever! I love it here to ride bikes, cause there isn't any traffic in the alley. We took a walk and looked for Pappy (never did find him, but we looked for clues along the way). I cleaned out my mom's front flower beds that nobody seems to have time for. Just took some time to relax and enjoy life! Logan (knock on wood) seems to be doing fairly well at going to sleep here, so that makes life easier. The fire whistle went off last night and my kids are not used to that sound, and poor Logan cried and hung on to me for dear life (it was nice to feel a little needed again!). Something I am just used too and as a kid would sleep through. It stormed in the evening, so any outside plans got cancelled there. So far, so good!

Oh, I should mentioned, the recital went really well, both nights. Olivia did wonderful, and the time flew between dances. Our "mom dance" to Eye of the Tiger went really good, it was fun and I would do again next year. Olivia loved that her mom was on stage like her. The music didn't want to work once we got on stage, not once but twice, but thankfully Miss Jessa had another CD and the third time was a charm. It after all, was Friday the 13th. Sat. night Logan did really well through it and was loving the kids on stage and was checking all the girls out, cause he knows they all come up to him and talk to him, no girls can walk by without acknowledging him and he's gotten used to the attention!
