Sunday........

I'm getting back on the black and gold bandwagon! Just for a sec. though. Just wanted to let everyone know (cause I know some of you could care less about the Superbowl) you should be watching the Pittsburgh Steelers win the Superbowl Sunday evening! Rich was talking to Olivia about some sport and the team's name and she simply put it, "Dad, we don't like any other team except for the Steelers, that is the only team we like, mom said!" I couldn't have said it any better and couldn't have been more proud of her!

We have been sick here lately, all of us except for Rich. Now before Logan I was the only one that never got sick. I am finally getting better and feeling like I can be a productive part of society again. I was feeling a lot like the flu again and feeling like someone had hit me with a truck. Luckily this year I got the flu mist and cannot praise it more! I'm starting to fret January, it seems to bring lots of illness inside this house, so next year i will know what to expect after Christmas!

As I was going to sit down and write on Wed. I realized all i could write about was the heavy snow falling outside my window again, which had given my brain a full white out. It proved itself to be a good one, giving Olivia her first 2 days off of school this year. My head has been rattled from her talking non-stop in my ear for two full days. I mean seriously, she never shuts up! I had a nickname from one of my dad's friend's when I was little which seemed to refer to the fact that I indeed like to talk also. Well you know how your parents are always sure to tell you that's what you get when you have children, PAYBACKS! I have gotten my payback, in more ways than one.

I had a crafty idea and actually followed up on it. I needed a "car" pillow for Logan so when we travel his head isn't always somewhere where it looks impossible it could hold that position. When I priced them I was shocked to say the least how much these little things cost. So I got the brain storm that if you can "no sew" everything else, why not a car pillow. So I did make one and actually sold one on ebay. I need to make more. I had some material left and made Logan a pillow. See I do have a creative side to me, as long as it doesn't include knitting needles and a sewing machine!!

Ok, I'm off to read some more of my book while Logan is sleeping. I'm back into my Harry Potter series. Realizing I still had 6 & 7 to read and have no idea how it ends. Got done reading Multiple Blessings by Jon & Kate.....little disappointing. Great read though, I could relate to Kate on some levels of being in the hospital and bored out of my mind and the NICU, so that was neat.....See you all Monday and have a Great Black & Gold Sunday............

New Strides......JAN.23'09

The boy seriously needs a haircut again, so I decided to have a little fun with it before a bath and spike it up for him!!

I love it when Logan shows me new skills that he's learned. It makes me so happy when I see this. Happier than when Olivia did things, although I was so excited to see her do them, she was my first. Olivia had (has) an aggressive personality and when she wants to do something or sees someone doing something, she wants to do it and does. She always did milestones on time or before, now Logan he's a different character. He could really care less and will just sit and laugh at you and almost to say with a shrug,"Oh well". It gets a little frustrating at times as I was hoping that with him watching Olivia he would have a advantage with milestones. Oh no, he just does what he wants and when he wants,no big deal to him. So you see, when he does figure something out and does it, I get really excited. Also, every new milestone gets us closer to where we need to be for his age. Preemie's, one step forward, three back.....and he is not even taking steps yet!

I have seen him wanting to put objects into other objects to see if they fit and finally putting blocks into a container instead of always just spilling them out. He is letting go with one hand more often, even waving it around at times. He did let go of me tonight, but didn't realize it until he started swaying heavily. I think he was trying to dance today. Music was going and of course he was in the sitting position, but his head and arms where going, another mark I've been trying to get him to hit.Logan is understanding the word "no"better and does things now only to turn around to see if you are going to say no to him. So it's the little things that count at this point. I know he is getting close to walking and I'm getting frustrated waking up every morning and asking him if today is the day. I guess long story short, I tend to take things for granted with Olivia, just knowing she will and can do them and with Logan it's like slowing down, taking a deep breathe and you will always see the little things that matter.......................

What Have We Been Up too!.... JAN.22'09

Well, we haven't been up to much. Patiently waiting for Feb.1 (Superbowl) ok, maybe not so patiently. It's like waiting for the Daytona 500 in Feb., it takes foreverrrr to get here. I'm thinking I may get to catch up on my Nascar this year, being I won't be feeding Logan every 3hrs. like last year. Other than that, we have just been being goofy, note picture below, or doing Pixos. I have to tell you, the Pixos are kind of fun and they DO stay together. Much better than the iron together beads. It's still kind of cold here. Ok, it's 28 degrees, but that is warm considering what it's been. I had my first, "Gosh I can't wait for Spring" idea yesterday. Yep, it's about that time to get antsy. I can't wait to get outside and get Logan outside. I can see he's getting bored in the house and who can blame him. At least Olivia gets out to school everyday. Oh I long for the day of T-shirts and shorts and no socks, coats, gloves, hats and boots. Logan is sick with a cough and stuffy nose and of course he is not sleeping good, which makes me insane. Oh, I long for the days of Spring/Summer...............

Here We Go...........JAN.19'09

Well girls and boys, It takes all I have to sit in this chair and type without jumping out of it!! HERE WE GO............FANTASTIC!! I love it when a plan comes together! Of course I'm talking about THE GAME last night. In case you missed it or didn't care, the Steelers won a very good game last night. Indeed it was a good game, it's always good when it turns out the way you wanted it too! Olivia actually watched some of it with us, even though I'm not sure she has a clue what exactly they are doing. Logan's new word is "yeah" so of course we added our own version to why he should be saying "yeah"all the time. We would say "Pittsburgh Steelers" and he would yell "yeah" and so on...very cute and he thought he was being so funny, so a little humor for the whole family. I like to think it was a teaching lesson/word lesson all wrapped up in one! You can multi-task even while watching football.............
Kevin, thanks so much for the comment and leaving me know where to find that song!!!

Let's Talk Football!! JAN.16, '09

If it's Friday, it must be getting close to Sunday and the Playoffs!!! Besides it being an insanely cold weekend, it's a BIG, ok HUGE football weekend. This is the game of all games(besides the Superbowl) git 'er done or go home and watch Feb.1. The Steelers will face off with the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday. There is hardly any hard feelings between these two teams!! Ok, I'm kidding, let's just say I wouldn't pass through Baltimore wearing a Steelers shirt or flag waving from my car!! What I didn't realize was this was like the rivalry between Pittsburgh and the old Oakland Raiders, which is why when I pull thoughts from my childhood out, the Raiders were the "dirtiest" team to play.........somebody apparently brain washed me back then!

I was glad when I never had to convinced Rich that he needed to be a Pittsburgh fan, he already was one! Now to convince two children that is where their blood runs! Olivia is already a Steeler fan, shirts, backpack, socks, etc. and Logan has some attire also. Olivia could really care less why she is a fan, but she is! She's not much into football, which is why God gave me Logan..................

GO STEELERS!

I know there is a song that plays on the radio about the Pittsburgh going to the superbowl, so if anybody can find it to email me it, that would be perfect............Help a friend out in Ohio!!!

Love her no front teeth smile!

Baby It's Cold Outside JAN.14'09

Well as promised the cold has arrived and I'm told there is more colder air also on it's merry way. I don't mind this "down time" in winter. I like the slow down from summer and the holidays. Maybe it gives me more "me"time. Now come Feb. and March I will start to get antsy from being in the house all the time. In the meantime we are doing different things to keep us occupied. Olivia has found games and toys she forgot about, I do think Logan is a little antsy with being in the house though. He has days where he just doesn't know what to do with himself and he gets whiny. Guess that natural with living in these parts...................

Logan loves to pull on Olivia and it drives her crazy! Just a taste of what is too come.

Oh, I love my sis!!

Back to Normal JAN.13'09

Back to normal...well that's refreshing. It was nice for the holidays to be over and get back into routine. Olivia was anxious to get back to school (love this age) and we needed to take back our house with decorations being put away!

Logan still isn't walking yet, although I think he's getting close but he's balance is still not steady enough to leave go and "go" yet. I kind of get frustrated sometimes knowing by now Olivia was well off on her own conquering the world on her new feet and I didn't have to carry and lift her everywhere we went. I would just like Logan to be able to walk into the store and stand there until I can put him into the cart. Do you realize how hard that is to do with how big he is?? Never thought about it before until I have had to do it so much lately. Exhausting I tell ya!

The weather forecast is promising lots of bitterly cold weather the next few days and some snow with it. Like we need anymore with the 6 inches we have left from last time. It looks very "wintry" outside now. Who knows if Liv will get any days off this week b/c of it, but she will sure drive me nuts in the house all day. She will got out and play in the snow, but it doesn't last real long, after all she doesn't have anyone to play with unless Rich stays out with her. I told her mom has to get some snow pants to play outside. I can't take the cold. I'm rather a wimp compared to my early days and would play out in it for hrs. upon end, soaking wet and not want to come home. Oh, those were the days, and we didn't get sick either!!!

I have been reading a lot lately. I am now reading The Christmas Sweater which so far is holding up it's end of being a New York Times best-seller. I am glad I have been able to sit down again and take up a old hobby!

Many people ask," Did you make your New Year Resolution?".........well no,I don't. Never really did. I could probably never keep to one with all the curves life hands you through the year. I guess I always try to do better the next year than the last with lots of things. I always feel like you learn from your mistakes from the following year and you make them better the next. You get wiser every year and make your life better. Isn't that why you get older and wiser??? True believer in that one. The wisest people you know are the elder ones. I do know this for sure this year, Olivia will turn 7(yeah, can you believe?), Logan will turn 2 (where did the time go), Olivia will enter into 2nd grade (sigh, I want to keep her in K forever), and Logan will walk this year (eventually), those things I am sure of for 2009...............

This was the first time Logan got into the pantry and took out his own box of cookies and sat eating them. It was kind of cute as me and Rich turned the corner and saw him, just grinning from ear to ear.

First time too that I seen him sitting like a "big boy" instead of always with his legs out in front of him. Reminds me how much he is growing up!

New Years JAN.12

Ok, this is the last post of the holidays and then we get back to everyday life. New Year's, hmmm.... not too much happens around here on that day. This year Nicole and her boyfriend Brian came out to visit. My neighbors had a party so needless to say we just had to go across the driveway and we were there! I love parties like that! Olivia for the first time this year understood what New Years was all about, not just a big people party. We played lots of Wii, yes I got one for xmas and I have to say I LOVE IT. I could seriously play this and forget about life surrounding me. Olivia can play it too and that had alot to do with my choice. I am not a "gamer" not since the very first Nintendo and the remotes got complicated and the games (visuals) aren't basically squared figures. Ok, I'm showing my age here, but you get the point. You can get hooked playing it.

We watched The Dark Knight. I have to say this is not my kind of movie and I have missed the last so many Batman's so I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but the rave reviews it has gotten made me want to watch. If you have the chance to see it, do it! I got into watching it and it was good. I will advise you to watch it more than once only because you can miss so much and not get what's going on. I would like to see it again and put the puzzle together of what I "didn't get" about it, but it was well worth watching......Normal day post next.........

GO STEELERS!!

When your small, people just tend to play all kind of tricks on you! Olivia's hat she got at a party at Pump It Up, earlier that day. He just went with it!

Wii anyone??

Christmas Day..Nesbit's JAN.09

Christmas is always very interesting at my family's, but very fun also. You never know who will walk through the door that you haven't seen in a long time or that your glad to see! Anyway, the anticipation to get to Pa. is overwhelming, 3hrs. seems like 6. I love that their are 4 of us kids, it makes it very interesting, that's why I always wanted more children! The day is great with family, friends that stop by that you haven't seen in awhile (brother's friends), food, and presents. Logan is finally getting more used to being there, so life is getting better in that area. Olivia practically lived there when she was little so not so much of a adjustment for her, now they both simply are intrigued with Michael's (cool) bedroom and love spending time in there and giving their mother a break!! LOVE IT! I told you guys some day my kids would get old enough to hang out with you and leave my alone!!! THE TIME HAS COME, and I enjoy every minute of it. So after we eat, we open presents and just hang out and look at sale ads for the next day, even though by then nobody has money to shop, it's a dream! All in all, I love being surrounded by family and friends at the holidays. There is nothing better than that. I hope my kids grow up and still carry on some of our traditions, I hope they still enjoy going to Pa. and I hope when they grow up and have families of their own they travel on Christmas Day to see their parents just like we did!!.......... Next up New Years..............

I am truly the only one that isn't adopted!! KIDDING My brothers tower over me and Nicole.

I told you I would post these pics if you hid from me, Nicole!!

Christmas Day JAN.08

Finally, Christmas Day! Olivia could not wait this year and it was finally here. We got woke up with the information that all the presents had been neatly put into piles for their owners. Note to self: next year's rule....nothing is touched until mom and dad get up. Olivia got her Nintendo ds and turned a blind eye to everything else for the moment. She had been wanting that DS for awhile now and I had finally given in that she was old enough for it. Logan was a little confused at what was up with all the new toys, like most children his age! He didn't know what to do first! Once all the opening was done, it was time to get the car ready to load for the Christmas trip to Pa. It gets harder every year to get out of the house any quicker than the year before, no matter how much you get ready before hand. So about 11am, everyone was ready to roll out to Pa. It always amazes me how much traffic is on the roads on Christmas Day, I always figured everyone stayed home! Next up........Nesbit's Christmas Day!

Christmas Eve JAN.07

Welcome Back!! Wow, it sure has been awhile since I've sat down and wrote lately, so get your coffee, and get ready for a novel! I haven't posted at all lately because my computer decided to die once we got back home after Christmas. Don't you love surprises like that at just the right time. Fortunately Michael has brought it back from the dead, but it is going to find a new home with my sister. So I have had to download everything back on to this computer and realized I had to download all pics and camera info. Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday. If you had family, friends and food around you, you had a great one! I always consider us very fortunate every Christmas for the family and friends that make it great.

Ok, Christmas Eve...We always do Eve with the Nagle's at their house. Once again, great family, great food.I was anxious to see what Logan would do this year, but of course didn't expect much yet. To my surprise he got very excited to see new toys, his arms flare out and go stuff and both arms and legs start going a hundred miles an hr. He was quit funny. Olivia didn't smother him, figuring she had to help him with everything, which is awesome b/c I never want her to feel she has to help him with everything and he can't do anything by himself. We have way too much food, but oh is it good! The kids run around like animals left out of their cages, and the older they get and really understand Santa, it gets more exciting. Olivia actually begged to come home so she could get to bed. I think I even overheard her explaining to Logan that he had to sleep all night and go to sleep so Santa could come. So everyone was asleep that night and Santa did come and leave presents under the tree for the Nagle children.............sorry you got to wait until the Christmas Day post..............

The kid's with Uncle Homer!! They love their Uncle Homer!!

They look like gangsters!

Olivia with Uncle Robb and all the Nagle/Weakland grandchildren..
