Easter Egg Hunt

I'm a little behind on post with Easter/B-day planning, but this egg hunt was March 27. Logan's age group is funny cause they don't push and shove and run each other over for the eggs. He actually got the hang of it after about two eggs. This was his first time. Last year he couldn't walk yet and it was very cold and windy. Hard to imagine he wasn't walking this time last year!

Logan loved the Easter Bunny! Much to everybody's surprise, he thought he was neat. He was even trying to tickle him. That boy is just full of life surprises!

Olivia's age group was something different and there was a ton of kids there. It's like letting cage animals out for feeding time! Sorry, it's the only way to describe it!

Of course Logan thought sissy needed some extra help picking her eggs! Funny, Olivia has been doing this for a couple of yrs. now and never got a egg with a ticket in it for a "special" prize. Logan's first yr. and he gets a ticket worth a $15 McDonald's card! You can imagine how well that went over.....just saying.

Mommy's Proud

Like I have always said before, everything little thing counts when it comes to Logan. I was so very proud when he wanted to climb the slide by himself. Mind you, he trips over his own feet, so you see my anxiety about this. Yes, the swing set has seen better days and needs to thrown away but hopefully this year we will get another.
The look on his face says it all and I was just as proud!

Spring

There's really nobody else that wanted Spring more than me! No really, just me! I have to say what a beautiful way to start Spring off, with a sun filled day! The kids couldn't wait to get outside and I couldn't wait for them to get outside along with myself. I voted we go to the zoo, Rich wanted to go fishing, he won. I stayed home with Logan while he napped (he needed it after all that playing) and I figured the lake would be packed and not really a good place for him. I knew he wouldn't sit still nor listen in a place like that. Pick your battles.

Olivia figured out early that Logan would handle the worms for her. That is until she screamed and he jumped back and that was the end of that. Is it really helpful having a older sister?!

I tried to get this boy to say "airplane" all last year and he would just point. First good day outside and his first word, "airplane". Go figure.

Olivia has taken up a new hobby, roller skating. Loves it. She's learning and getting better each time. I used to be good on skates. I want to try again so bad, but I'm scared. I'm scared for my kids that I will break my tail bone and not be able to walk, I am scared to embarrass myself and finally I'm just down right scared. We are having Olivia a b-day party at the rink on Sunday and I'm promising myself I'm going to try and "just see what happens." Maybe if I could just buy my own skates and try at home first!!..........................

Field Trip

It's was a very hectic week, last week. Feel like I wasn't home much and nothing much got done, but that is life. I got asked to go on Olivia's field trip with her class to McKinley monument in Canton. Never was there before, so why not! I have to say that 2nd graders are so easy to do a field trip with. The occasional boy talking out once in a while, but I've learned that that is boys for ya, so different than girls. We had a beautiful day for it and warm too. At this age they are all into "cool" stuff so they pay attention.
You had to climb all those steps to get inside to see the above pic. I had to laugh when one boy said to me & Liv's teacher (Mrs.Warzinski)," if us kids can climb to the top, so can you." I thought that was hysterical coming from a 8yo. to a 36yo. Funny stuff those kids say.

Yes, 2nd graders are into bunny ears. I really don't care for this pic of me, I was up late that night and with the time change (which is kicking my butt) I really wasn't caring what I looked like.

Oh yes, I got to ride the bus with the kids. Note to self: Drive yourself next time.

This field trip was really fun and I enjoy all the kids in the class. It was somewhat of a science center also, so lots of cool stuff to explore. I took a pack of gum with me, knowing it was going to be a long day and would you believe my daughter ratted me out. No, they are not allowed to have it, but I tried to sneak it and she either smelled it or either she would catch me putting it in. We are too much alike. I didn't have enough for the class so that was my excuse not to share, but really, my own kid telling on me! What's this world coming too! She also made a big deal of the fact that I didn't leave my jacket on the bus. They all had too b/c they didn't want any one's coat left behind. Well I WOULD NOT forget my coat b/c I am a reliable adult who would not leave their coat behind.......hey the excuse worked anyway!

FINALLY some really super nice weather. Like I've said before, it's funny the effect the sun has on you. I pushed Rich and the kids outside over the weekend so I could do a much needed cleaning in the house. How come you never see how bad your house needs cleaned until the sun shines through! I made sure I could clean without kids, cause cleaning with kids around is like eating a Oreo while brushing your teeth. Defeats the purpose. They needed to run off some nervous energy too!
Otherwise, they game! One with a hand-me-down pink Leapster and the other with a DS.

He's so in love with Dora.

One lazy,bad kitty cat.

Missed Opportunity

Some of you know about my dilemma with Mr. Logan, some do not. Logan will not address me as "mom", "mommy", "hey you", nothing. Some seem to think it's b/c he's here with me all the time and doesn't need too, but I never had that issue with Olivia. Yes, I know, I haven't had half the issues with Olivia! It's been really bothering me that he doesn't do this. Isn't it every mother dream to hear their little boy call you mommy in that little tiny voice.

My mission has been for him to address me as mom, mommy, anything just say it!! Maybe it was "bye bye daddy", that got me going on this mission. Everything is daddy, plain as day. BTW..he is putting more words together lately and saying way more and that's just cool.

As my mother says, "He's just messing with you". Well I left this morning to do my "work" at liv's school and when I came back home and walked through the door there was Logan, right there. He got all excited to see me and he points to Rich and says "daddy" then to me "momma" and back and forth again. Mind you, Rich is running the sweeper (I think Logan was more excited that daddy was running the sweeper!!) So I start yelling, "shut the sweeper off" so of course Rich is looking at me like I'm insane. By the time he turned it off Logan took off through the kitchen and that was that . Missed my golden opportunity. The only time in a very long time he address's me and the sweeper is running..........I think my mom is right, he's just messing with me!

ONCE AGAIN, NO PARAGRAPHS. NOT THE WRITERS FAULT!

Something to Look Forward too!

If you haven't noticed by now, it is staying lighter in the evenings longer!! That in itself is enough to throw a party. I hear the forecast for the rest of the week is nothing buy SUNSHINE! Can't wait to throw my children outside all day!
We have gotten Logan's test results back from his infection and everything came back normal!! So no kidney problems :) Another obstacle conquered. I am so glad all of that is over. I'm not very good when it comes to inflicting pain of my kids, let alone when I'm the one holding them down. I tend to have nightmares about it even though it probably hurts me more than them. Isn't that how it goes when YOUR the parent, something nobody ever told me either....how many times i would feel guilty in the life for things I have no control over.
Mr.Logan is on a eating strike as I like to call it. I've tried everything, I've offered everything, I've got nothing. It's frustrating for how much goes in the garbage that can't be saved anymore. Pretty bad when Olivia eats more than Logan. Of course she wants to know why he don't have to sit down and eat everything. I try to explain, he doesn't understand, but she only knows, It's not fair. I can't figure him out. He will sit in his seat, eat a couple of bits and he's gone, done, finished. I thought maybe he didn't want to sit in the booster seat anymore cause he's big now ;) so I set his plate up without it, nope that's not the problem. I've tried everything..............he won't starve himself, I know that, but it's still very frustrating!!
