Here We Go

It's not yet winter or fall, for that matter, but Logan has gotten sick already. He may have been sick once last year, if my memory serves me correct (who knows these days), so you know what it's like when a baby gets stuffed up..........mommy don't sleep! You do what you gotta do to get through the night, but man, it takes it toll. I have a stiff neck, guess I was sleeping on my head or something. Today he seems a little better. Our house and probably us at this point ,all smell like Vick's. Hopefully by the weekend he will be back to normal.

Olivia got her first (and probably won't be the last) bad mark for the day. They have a color chart for behavior everyday. It goes yellow, red, green, blue after that, your just in big trouble. She got red! I was (wasn't) surprised by this and thinking, "This is only the second week of school." She likes to talk, a lot. She tells us that is what it was from. You know how girls are, talk, talk , talk, talk. Doesn't really seem to bother her, she's like her dad that way. I maybe got in trouble in my 12yrs (13 counting K) possibly twice! Now Rich is a different story. I was afraid to get in trouble, not her. What's funny is, the secretary (which I still don't understand how she plays into this) told Olivia if she didn't quit talking she was going to call her mother, because I know your mom and she won't like that very much! I do know the secretary and Olivia just gave me that look.............

So Starts the Week

Let me tell you how much I didn't want to get up this morning and start moving. I was excited about getting back into a routine after 3 days off, but the body didn't want to get moving and neither did Olivia. I had to keep going back and telling her, "Let's go", but all ended well, she caught the bus on time and was happy about going to school again. She asked me on Sunday if she only had one more day off and then school again cause she couldn't wait to go back, isn't that seriously every mother's dream come true!, i know it is mine compared to last year!

We didn't do anything great or wonderful over the weekend. My family did not get to come out as planned and Rich had to work both Sat.& Sun., so that left me and the kids. We made the most of it though, had to take Olivia's shoes back and get a different pair, got Logan's Halloween costume (it's adorable), and then did some grocery shopping. It's been so hot during the day again, but it gets so cool in the evenings. So you know what's coming, weather wise, around the corner............YIKES!

Finally Friday

It's been a big week here, but a very quiet and uneventful week! Isn't that what everyone strives for?! School has gone very well with Olivia, no complaints, no worries, and she even gets up for school and is pushing me out the door for the bus! WHAT A RELIEF! I am looking forward to the next three days off, I have to admit, it takes some time for me to get used to her not being around all day. Me & Logan do get lots of time to play, and it is nice cause I get to spend lots more time one on one with him now. I wonder what he's thinking when Liv is not here all day. She got to wear her cheer outfit to school today and that's a big deal!! So of course she had to explain to Logan why she got to wear "that" outfit and that under no certain terms is she aloud to get it dirty or wipe her hands on it!! We shall see what it looks like when she gets off the bus.

Overall, the week went really well and it's nice to have that happen every now and again. My next big project is to go through this house now and get rid of half of it that just keeps hanging around for no reason. I need to sale some baby items and clothes (it's a tear jerker) and make room for "older" toys and clothes now. I did not have a chance to do this in the spring like normal and figured I would just let it go until next spring, well it has gotten the best of me...................

First Day of School

First day, of the First grade! (For those of you who listen to Veggie Tales). Today went off as well as you could expect and want. Although this happened last year and she was worse the second day, so I know what to expect, but hopefully it will all be good. Olivia did have a major meltdown last night before bed and practically had hives all over her with crying and worrying, but she got calmed down and was ready this morning. I dread it, she was me when I went to school, I hated going the first day, your nerves got the best of you and whew! you made it through, but does anybody really like the first day of anything!!!.................

First Haircut

Apparently, Logan wants nobody to see him, he kept closing his eyes for the camera, but I caught him once when he wasn't paying attention. First haircut, went really well, and it looks absolutely priceless on him. I didn't realize his hair was actually as long as it was until now that it's cut! Gotta run and get things put together for school tomorrow! (Kim, Logan will be wearing size 12 & 18mos. this winter)

Butterflies

We had open house last night at the "new" school. We got to meet the teacher (which she seems really nice), see the building, and learn all the rules. Olivia is going to ride the bus this year, last year she only rode it home and that was at the end and with her cousin. This year I decided it would make everything easier if she just rode it. She seems ok with everything. Although, Olivia is not one to really come out and tell you something is bothering her. She has a ton of the same friends in class as last year, so that is awesome. The ones that aren't in class, we see at cheer leading.

I get butterflies worrying about the first week of school. I've done this now for 4yrs. of school(2yrs.preschool, and K and now 1st grade). I get so nervous worrying about her all day and if she knows where she's going and don't get lost and if she'll find the right bus home, etc. It's as bad as when I went to school the first day! For crying out loud, are your children really suppose to do this to you! So this weekend we are off to get the remaining supplies we need and prepare for the dreaded first day. One good thing is Labor Day is coming and that leaves 2 weeks of only 4 days! and pappy & grandma Nesbit will be coming, which always helps out!!!!!!!!

A Whole Lot of "Firsts"

We are once again doing a lot of "firsts" around here. First,(no funny intended)Logan is doing a whole lot of "commando" crawling. He doesn't get up on his hands or knees, but crawls like a army guy through the trenches. After watching him, realizing that he really is crawling, just commando style. He gets around pretty darn good these days, even more than when my parents were out, and he's into everything. He loves ribbons (the ones left on his b-day balloons) and cords, loves cords, they are very interesting ,you know.
Another first, that i have hesitated on for awhile now, was the car seat. I really needed him to be able to balance to put him in a grocery cart. So I finally did it and he wasn't sure what to think about the new seat or the direction he was now sitting in, but by the time we made our way back home, he was being giddy in the back, so I'm thinking he started to like it by then.
Another task we are going to do is getting the hair cut. I need to get Olivia's cut anyway for school, so I thought it was time for him to look like a boy! His hair is honestly so thick on top you can put in a barrette(not that I've tried, ok, I did!) So we are getting haircuts on Monday, right before school.
Another is, well maybe not a first, but we are going to make it that way. First b-day pictures! I always got Olivia's done so often when she was a baby and now even we have so many w/sports and school, and poor Logan only has a select few. The pictures turned out way too good! He was the best. Once upon a time Liv was the same way! I had a hard time choosing what I wanted, but we managed and now I just can't wait to get them.............adorable!!
That ends the first for now........I had some time to write since Liv went over to her friend's house to play today and Logan is sleeping. Oh also Logan is getting teeth like mad now. He's getting another bottom tooth, pretty soon he will have a mouth full, but he won't let you in there too good to see what is going on, so it's hard to see them! Maybe I should add that Olivia is going into "First" grade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
