Never Ends??

This is a BEFORE onesis and a TODAY onesis. Funny, the size difference. If you would see the preemie onesis you wouldn't believe that a little body would actually fit in it, it's that narrow and small.
Today we went and had the dreadful physical therapy appt. for Logan. One doc thought he would need it for sitting (cause he's still not sitting by himself). I always assume the worst is going to be the outcome........causssssse it usually is. To my surprise, he doesn't need the therapy and she gave me some exercises to do with him to make his muscle's stronger for sitting! I left there with no other, (well this or not could be wrong and maybe schedule him to see this doctor) frustration that I normally get with him being a preemie. I swear I am going to know every floor and every dept. in Children's by the time he is 5. We had to go past the NICU to our way to the appt. and it leaves a empty feeling in your stomach to see it and watch parents as they go in the doors. I was outside with Olivia (she never forgot the playground they have there) and a mom was talking on her cell phone and saying how the baby wasn't coming home today, that the doc wanted to keep her longer b/c of low heart rates......................Makes me just cringe and want to say, "It will be ok, look at him!"

Tomorrow we are going on vacation again.........to Pa.!!!! I need a break to get my sanity back and Olivia starts cheer leading the end of the month and that is non-stop until school and let's not forget someone has a very important B-day this month............I'm off to my spa vacation for a week........well at least to me it's like a spa, cause I get to chill out!!!!!!!

Great Week

Let's re-cap the week, well at least as much as i can remember. Took the kids to the lake for lunch on Tues. (ok, we really didn't have lunch cause it was passed lunch when we went), I promised we would go on a day that wasn't too hot. These people down there that own a house are building a lighthouse attached to their house and it's really cool looking. I have to get pics of it, when of course I remember my camera! Took Olivia down to the library, they have these really neat programs down there and she loves them. Thank goodness for the free library and programs. Free is good. So this week was a magic show and this guy was good. His name is Rick Smith Jr. and he's been all Ellen, Jay Leno, etc. He's also in the Guinness Book of World Records. Anyway, the show was great and Olivia loved it ( I love how she's getting older and gets more out of things like that). We have been spending a lot of time in our pool, as promised by me that we would. The water has been really, really warm and you'll hear no complaints from me. This weekend our town had a "Rock the Dock" boat Regatta at the lake. Now I don't much about speed boat racing or who races, but it was nice. They were fun to watch, what you can watch with two kids with you, but interesting. They had carnival rides and lots of other stuff to do. Olivia of course wanted to ride the rides and thank goodness Rich will ride with her. She rode this ride below and I couldn't believe she really wanted to do it. BRAVO to her for being so brave. Logan did very well also for lack of sleep and it being hot. He just enjoyed sitting in the stroller and letting all the girls talk to him. We also went Red Raspberry picking on Sat. morning and that went rather well too. The mosquito's were awful and luckily I carry bug spray in the van with me. Olivia did really good with all the jaggers and bugs. The Japanese beetle has made a come back here and they are everywhere and very annoying. Just very annoying little flying bugs................

This is our lake behind our house. There are no beaches to hang out, but they are finally putting it to use. It was that hazy of a day, the pics look gray!

Lost Pics

I forgot I had these from the 4th. Logan is all over the floor with rolling, to get toys. I love it! I couldn't wait until he started to do some movement, that keeps the drs. away!! His sitting is getting much better and (knock on wood) he is still sleeping through the night!!!!!!!! One more month and he will have a birthday, that leads up to the dreaded day that i went to the hospital, only to return 3 weeks later..............

Fun Times

Let me start by saying......."oh, how nice it is to get a nights sleep without being interrupted." So far, so good. I had decided that we needed to start doing "summer" stuff before summer runs out on us. It's a shame, we have a pool and don't use it. I am going in it tomorrow for the first time since this time last year. So it's hard to plan activities to do with the weather being either way too hot for outside stuff or raining, and also just trying to plan around Logan sleeping. One thing I wanted to get back to doing was going to the library. They have programs planned for all summer and we have missed quite a few of them, but better now than never. Being they have them twice in a day, we chose to do the one at 7pm. Logan got to stay with daddy and me and Liv went. They always have wonderful programs for the kids there. This one just happen to be about insects and the big ones. It was fun and nice and Olivia seemed to enjoy being there with the other kids. She was all about finding Logan some Baby Einstein DVD's and she did. He was very thankful of his Big Sis' We also got to go see Olivia's Pre-school teacher yesterday and we hadn't seen her since last year. She was so excited to see Olivia again and she finally got to meet Logan. She will be Logan's teacher also, when it 's time!! Mrs. Ostrander invited Olivia when school starts again to come and read once a week to her class. I guess they do this and it goes toward extra credit for O. I thought that was really cool since she loves to read so much and she will be the "big" kid now in pre-school.

Logan is just growing like a bad (good) weed. He's doing so much different stuff everyday. I love when he feeds himself finger foods. It's funny to watch him figure out what to do when the puffs get stuck to his hand. He does well with his right hand and the left isn't too far behind. He wants to roll over constantly on his belly, almost like he wants to crawl. This morning, he got over in his crib, finally got that arm out from underneath him and had a blast in there. He actually got himself turned around and faced the other way. He would come over to the bars and look at me and laugh. He wants to go so bad. I'm telling ya, the boy is going to crawl and walk before he can sit!!!.........

I haven't taken many pics at all lately and should, but I've been on a break!!

4th of July

I know, I'm a little behind, but that's me! We had a wonderful 4th. The weather was perfect after a rainy Thurs., but all was well after that. My parents and brother Mike came out for the weekend, and my children were hardly spoiled!! We had fireworks and gosh did we have fireworks, not only us, but the neighbors and people down the road had a big party and they let off fireworks for 4 non-stop hours. Olivia finally got tired of watching them and she was played out anyway from the day, she went in and fell asleep in her tent (she camped in the living room) and Logan slept through it all, which was nice that I got to spend some "adult" time with everyone. Grandma made Logan eat, which he was going through this stubborn stage and only wanted the spoon to chew on and that was it and then would bite down on the spoon and not leave go! He would get mad and make himself almost purple screaming about it.Where did this come from?! So Grandma made him eat and not give in to giving him the spoon and for 4 nights, the child slept all night. Can you even imagine how nice it was (is) to get 4 nights and full sleep? My body doesn't know how to react to that. My dad and Logan kind of have this cave man type communication going on. He knows how to get pap's attention with a grunt and pap gives it right back. How about now, when he farts, he laughs.........such a boy!!!Olivia made this hat at the campground a couple of weeks ago and came home and decorated it. It looks so nice with stars and stripes on it. She's so creative and can draw so well, something she definitely does not get from me. How about when she took 2 magnifying glasses(she wants glasses now that kids have them in her class and her cousin does too), taped them together and used straws taped together as a headband to hold the magnifying glasses on! She looked like Harry Potter on steroids, but it was very creative..........

Pa. Pics

This is the last of the Pa. pics. I wanted to share the awesome view you get while your there. I miss just seeing trees around and not just flat ground. You really don't miss it and realize how beautiful it is until you don't see it that often. I wanted to start a tradition w/Olivia like my grandparents did with me. Every Memorial Day we religiously went and planted flowers on all the graves. We never missed that holiday. I started a couple yrs. ago with her and she asks all the time when we pass a cemetery. We didn't make it back for Memorial Day this year so I made sure we had something to plant while we were there. We put them on the grandparents and my Aunt Maggie's. I got a lot more "involved" questions this year about the whole thing and sometimes it's hard to answer without being too morbid for a 6yr. old, but we managed. I hope this is something that will stick with her like it did with me.

Finally

Olivia finally lost her first tooth yesterday (July 1st). She was so excited. I am thinking as a kid, that must put you in a whole different "age" catergory with your peers. Now she is one of them!!
This is the DREADED cactus we have. Actually this is the smaller half of the cactus. The big part is by the road and it's way too mean to get as many flowers as this one. Usually every year when it blooms I am out of town and miss it. This year I got back just in time. You can't even pull weeds around this thing and they end up in your fingers, but it does look really nice when it blooms.
